As a lady in her twenties, I have to dwell on this question a few times in my life. There is a saying that time flies so fast without us noticing it. A few blinks and a few years is gone. It is not completely wrong when people said a year is easily passed just like that.
However, 10 years is not a short period of time. In 10 years, many adjustments can occur and one can develop into a different person, be it good or bad. In 10 years, I would be thirty-six years old.

At the age of thirty-six, I can see that I am a happy, successful woman who had accomplished more than half of my bucket list. If not yet accomplished, I will be working towards accomplishing those goals to fulfill my life. I have always loved being active to keep myself fit. Not only for the sake of being healthy, but also to make myself able to do various things without any difficulties.
Therefore in the sports areas, I expect to have learned how to swim, mastered some skills in skateboarding, winning a few matches in badminton when I compete with my friends and conquer Bukit Sarang Helang in less than an hour. In addition to that, I enjoy watching Korean variety shows and Japanese animation.
Being an independent person, I started to learn the Korean language by myself without attending any classes. This is so that I don’t have to depend on people to sub those shows with English subtitles. As of today, I can fully read and write but only limited understanding in Korean.
Thus, I believe that I am able to communicate fluently in both Korean and Japanese languages within the next three years. In terms of life skills, before I turned 30, I have already got a good grip on how to manage a budget. Being the third out of five siblings, although I am not the oldest, I am also capable of sharing responsibilities with my older siblings and providing a good environment and conditions for my family.
Other than that, I am capable of understanding car problems and changing car tires without any much help too. As for my career, being an enthusiastic person I am, once I have started working, my number one priority is to acquire the skills needed for my job position while enjoying my task at the same time.
As per the brief discussion on the first interview, as a lab technician, my main duty is to check whether the liquid purity is as stated in the paper when it arrived. Then proceed to process the liquid into the required concentration and pressure.
Besides that, I have to listen and communicate effectively with engineers to ensure everything goes well. However, I am not going to settle down just that. I am also hopeful that I’ll be able to grow within this position to take on more and be a part of new and exciting projects in the community. By that, if there is an opportunity for advancement and I have the skills and experience needed, I will give my best in taking up a new challenge.
Ten years down the road, I am able to bring in new ideas and initiatives into the company, share my skills and guide new recruits in contributing a better future for the company’s goal in expanding its’ product and services. Thus, helping the company in growing its revenues and client base. Ten years from now, I want to have made an impact on this company in a significant and positive way.
From first sight, it is a very simple question “Where do you see yourself in ten years?” However, many people struggle with answering it. For now, I have a clear picture in my mind where I see myself in ten years. Like many other individuals full of ambitions, I have a lot of unrealistic goals that will probably never happen. However, to move forward the way I want, I have also created the realistic plans that I will follow to become a person I want to be.
To begin with, five years from now, I will have already a distinct career path and stable earnings that will allow me to take care of myself and my family. Nevertheless, I do not think much about money. I do not want to accumulate wealth but, first of all, I will concentrate on becoming healthy and empowering my healthy habits.
I have no doubts that wealth is nothing in comparison with health. Probably, I will even try to be a vegan for some time to eat only plant-based food that will clear my organism. Also, I will learn more about zero-wasting and minimalism that will assist me in caring about the world around me.
Talking about my character and personal goals, I will stop comparing myself to other people and will concentrate my attention on staying strong on who I am. Every day, I will work hard on enhancing my physical and mental health. I want to step up as a leader to feel more confident in my ability to manage different projects and motivate the employees. I want to become a model for others and become a person I will be proud of.
As far as my career is concerned, I will do my best to perform the tasks and my duties perfectly. For sure, sometimes life events are not happening the way we want. However, I will never be frustrated and disappointed, learning from my own mistakes. I plan to work no more than 35 hours a week to have time for my family and children.
Also, I will want to devote some time to my hobbies to prevent feeling stressed out. In the future, I want to make sure that everything I do is coming from a place of inspiration and a place of light. Talking about my family, I plan on making the life of my children as beautiful as it will be possible. I want to be a good example for them to motivate my children to become truly honest with themselves.
Lastly, all my free time I will devote myself to self-education, improving my skills and knowledge on various subjects. I will travel a lot to explore the world around and learn about new cultures and languages. Hence, in ten years from now, I will be a prominent worker, an ideal parent, and merely a good person. I picture the future of my family walking together hand n’ hand and merely enjoying life as much as possible. Even though our future is like a long, unpredictable hallway, as long as I will have strengths to move forward, I will make everything possible to make sure that all my plans will come true.
Where do I see myself in ten years? Thinking about this question gave me a chance to analyze my goals, wishes, and ambitions. In ten years I know I want the basic things of life, love, family, and happiness and the opportunity to pursue my dreams. I will have been blessed with having children with my sweetheart of fifteen years. I will be employed by a top tier company. I will own my own business, reside in another state, and own property all over the country.
Children have always been important to me.
Since I can remember I have always wanted to be a mother. I decided to wait until marriage to start a family, but once married we focused on building a secure future together. I believe I will be an excellent mother, giving my children all the love and affection I can give. I will enjoy being a soccer mom, taking the kids to all of their extracurricular activities.
I am going to be the best mother, being supportive and tending all of my children’s needs and wants. Although children are important to me, I do not intend to be a stay at home mother.
I have always known I would be employed in an office environment, and have always been fascinated by computer software. Having earned my degree in software engineering several years prior to the University of Michigan, I will work at a Fortune 500 company. My office will be on the top floor with valet parking, a corporate spending account, and the freedom to work from home if I choose. While working for this Fortune 500 Company, I will continue my education, earning my master’s degree, and later my doctorate. Certainly, in ten years I will own my own business.
I love to bake and decorate cakes, make jewelry, and plan events. I also love weddings, from the planning to the ceremony to the reception. My first choice for a business is a bakery, which will be the most desired cakes, not only for the taste but for the exquisite designs. My main clientele for the bakery business will be engaged couples, from there, I will introduce jewelry and event planning and take my business to an unimaginable level. Additionally, when I complete my degree in software engineering I plan to move back to North Carolina.
When I was 22 years old I moved to North Carolina to live with my aunt and go to school. One year later my aunt left North Carolina to move to Texas to pursue another job opportunity. My choices were to remain in North Carolina or move back to Detroit, I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. I was 24 years old, had my own apartment, brand new car, and loved being independent of my family. In North Carolina, the weather, except for the occasional ice storm, has a very mild climate and the streets and highways are not littered with debris.
Lastly, I currently own my home and enjoy owning a home. However, when I travel I like to have my own space. Although my permanent address will be in North Carolina, I will own property all over the country. I will definitely own a home in Florida, not too far from Disneyworld, so I can go at any time. I have never been to Texas or Las Vegas but would like to own a home in one of these places because they are both warm year-round. I’m not certain where else I would like to own a home that is to be discovered while traveling cross country in the motor home.
In conclusion, ten years from now I see myself still married to the same person with one or two children. I will have a very high-paying unstressful career with a Fortune 500 company. My business will be the most lucrative and innovative bakery and event planning business ever. My family’s base will be in North Carolina. All of my free time will be spent traveling the country in my motor home to find the next property I want to purchase. Simply stated, in ten years I see myself living a very comfortable, leisurely life.
I always wanted to see what will be my life in the future, what will be my career and what will I become? As I reflected on my childhood I have many dreams and aspirations that I would like to accomplish within the next ten years to come. In ten years, I can see myself having many of my goal accomplished, if not accomplished, I will be working on accomplishing those goals to fulfill my life. We all know when growing up that we all wanted that fairy tale ending with the house, car, kids, and the dog.
Ten years from now I plan to be raising my children, coming out of college with several degrees, and being happy. They say in one’s life we all make choices, but in the end, our choices make us. You’re about to embark with me unto the long, curvy road of my life, and Watch upon it as it unfolds through my eyes.
This is my life as I see it will be ten years from now. I have most of it planned out already. This is my story.
School has always been an important goal in my life. Growing up I always wanted to attend college for at least 10 years to receive an accounting degree. Now that I’m older I realized that accountancy is not what I want. I want to be a doctor. I am interested in an M.D. /Ph.D. dual degree program, receiving a certificate, and a license for medicine. I’m sure I am going to be a professional doctor someday. I love helping other people with their sickness.
The way I see myself ten years ahead of now is not something I often think about. To tell you the truth, it scares me a little to know that in one short decade I will be twenty-eight years old and that my years of youth are coming to an end. One thing I’m certain of is that if God gives me the opportunity to get to that age, I will make the most of my years and put all of my effort to become a successful, happy woman.
A vision I’ve always had of myself years ahead of now is a wealthy businesswoman that owns an art academy and is a world-wide well-known artist. I will have graduated from a bachelor’s in fine arts from college, as well as a master’s in painting and business administration. My institution will give art education to people…
I’m sure that with perseverance and the help of the people I love, as well as God’s, I will have the chance to travel around the world and meet many beautiful places. By the time I turn 28, I will have visited dozens of countries around the world, and known places of incredible beauty. Another one of my wishes is to be able to build a very beautiful house with a painting studio, a big garden, a couple of dogs, a few nice cars, and maybe even a swimming pool and a hot tub.
Other dreams I have include a house in Lake Atitlan, as well as an apartment in Miami, a room share in Steamboat Colorado, and a beautiful house in Puerto San José, Guatemala. I’m not very certain I will be living in my native country ten years ahead of now, but I am certain that I will visit it often to see my family and friends as frequently as my job allows me to.
Ten years from now, I see myself as a strong, independent, healthy, and most important of all, happy woman, and I am aware that the only person that can get me there is myself by putting all the passion, effort and determination I have in everything I do. In the movie Shrek II, I once heard a very life-changing quote that the character Arthur said after defeating his enemy. “The only person that can keep you from becoming who you want to be is yourself.” The biggest obstacle I have to fight against is, as the…
Usually, people plan their lives for systematic and smooth management of time, resources, and effort. And it is beneficial too. This essay deals which the perception of the writer regarding where he/she sees himself/herself after 10 years. It is a piece of creative writing and has not taken reference from any existing source.
As a child, everyone dreams of a very elated future with luxury, popularity, and success. But, as age climbs, the dreams get replaced by practical goals like a job after college, a good apartment, and family. Success in career is of utmost importance to everyone irrespective of age. But what I want out of my life is not just professional success and fun. It is more than what makes our life seem content from outside. After ten years, I see myself with a sustainable job that pays enough, a supportive family to live with and a better understanding of life which helps in seeking peace.
Peace mentioned here might seem prophetic to many. But, it is the penultimate requirement after money. Money is important for proper food, shelter, clothing, education, recreation, and protection. Which basic need comes for free? So, I would like to have a legitimate and stable source of income after 10 years. I am not emphasizing on opulence; money in the required amount suffices.
I would like to choose a career which not only pays but also keeps my interest in it alive. When one loves his/her work, it becomes fun. No matter my job in the future seems fun to me or not, I definitely want to learn in the coming 10 years to perform my duties efficiently even in adverse situations.
When envisaging assets, I surely want to own an apartment and car within the next 10 years. Though I would encourage the use of public transport for better utilization of energy it is necessary to have a personal car along with a house.
The other necessary appliances and commodities are understood without even mentioning. But, a particular contraption needs to be enlisted here- the latest iPhone or another equivalent gadget after 10 years. When one self-sponsors the expensive leisure pursuits, it is worth it. Bothering parents for a very expensive gadget is inappropriate.
Example #7 – 10 Years From Now
When it comes to family life, I would like to get married by the age of 29 but choose to avoid it before the age of 26. It is time to strengthen your career, have fun, and understanding life better before you add important extensions to the responsibilities. Family life indispensably includes parents and folks. So, I earnestly wish my relationship with my family to be hale and hearty. In case, I get married, I wish to be a very supportive and loving spouse.
In 10 years, I see myself healthier and more sensible than today. A good lifestyle, distance from unhealthy habits, and hence, a stronger mind and body to live in or with is significant. How can I be a support to my family or myself in any respect if I choose to be careless about my well-being? So, a healthier mind and body are definite to happen.
Last but never least, I aspire to be a better human being within the next 10 years. I wish my will power strengthens and so does my wisdom. I will be able to distinguish between right and wrong after 10 years, whose endeavor begins from here, the present. A better understanding of life, a tendency to resolve matters with and for peace, a clear conscience, and fair decisive power- I will attain these abilities within the next 10 years.
In conclusion, I see myself after 10 years as a dedicated professional, loving, and caring member of the family and a better human being. A person who can be sought for advice, help, and suggestions, who is a good citizen and values simple things of happiness in life- these must be my qualities by the end of the next decade. And it is important to know that these visions can come true only if the venture begins today.
Example #8 – Interesting Ideas
In ten years I hope to be in the Peace Corps in some socially and politically unstable country somewhere, but having the time of my life doing what I love.
Let’s see 10 years I will be in my early twenties so probably if I follow the family line I may be a cop. I think that’s what I want to do after I finish college.
In 2020 I’ll be 27 and hopefully happy, healthy, and thriving as an artist, singer, and most importantly as the Director of Speechwriting for the President of the United States. The person currently holding that position is 27-year-old Jonathan Favreau, and hopefully, I’ll be able to write speeches that are as poignant, stirring, inspirational, and kick-a*s as the ones he’s written thus far.
I’ll live in an eccentrically decorated townhouse in Adams Morgan or DuPont Circle with my boyfriend who will by then be my human rights attorney husband, and my gorgeous golden retriever Bowie who will be old and perhaps a bit slower in his advanced age, but still awesome. I’ll combine my three creative passions under one roof by opening up an art gallery/bookstore/coffeehouse that has open-mike nights where up and coming singers can perform and poetry can be shared.
The art gallery will have comfortable sofas, and if you want to sit there with your cup of coffee and meditate a piece of art or just chillax in a vervey environment, you can. On the weekends I’ll sing there.
My little sister is only nine now, but she’s already declared that she will be going to Georgetown, and so I’ll get to see her all the time.
This is my ideal. Really, though, as long as I am creatively fulfilled, independent and in love, I’ll be happy.
I don’t really know what the future holds, that’s why I have a few visions of myself.
In 10 years I’ll be 25. If I follow my current plan, I’ll be dancing my a*s off every day as a ballerina. I’ll probably still be in a ballet company’s corps the ballet (background dancers). Maybe I would be in love with one of the male dancers, but I know 25 is too young for marriage for me. I would be dancing in Giselle, Les Sylphides, all the ballets I love with my lover at my sides maybe… Or maybe a ballet company will hire me as a choreographer and I’ll choreograph and create dances, both classical and neo-classical.
Maybe I’ll be a human rights lawyer. If that’s the case then at 25 I’ll still probably be studying. I’ll go to Europe and hopefully there a firm will hire me and I’ll go to and fro from my home and my work. I would be living with my boyfriend. I’d invite my parents to Europe so they could see me.
