America: land Of the free, home Of the brave. Named after Amerigo Vespucci, an Italian merchant and cartographer who explored large parts of What is now South America, this country historically always had an enormous attraction on immigrants Give me you’re tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these homeless, tempest- rost to me, lift my lamp beside the golden door.
This famous part of a poem written on 8 plaque on the inner wall Of the pedestal Of the Statue Of Liberty sums up perfectly what the United States is all about. It doesn’t matter who you are and where you’re from, Lady Liberty welcomes you. With the head coaches standing on the sideline, shouting plays to their men. Trying to get to the “end zone” of their adversary. Using not only physical strength but also strategy. Football is more like chess than you would think. The first game of Football was played by two college teams. Rutgers University and Princeton University played each other on November 6, 1889 Rutgers won this game hy a score of six to four.
This game, however, was still played by the English Football Association rules, Which meant that players were only allowed to kick the ball and each side had twenty- five players. Almost six years later; in 1875, Harvard University and Tufts University played a game of Football that had more recognizable aspects of modern-day Football, like; having eleven players er side on the field, picking up the ball, and running with it and stopping the ball carrier by tackling him, Players, however, had virtually no protection and serious injuries and even deaths were not uncommon.

In IBOS alone, eighteen players died as a result of playing Football. This led to several important colleges banning Football as a sport. In 1910 reforms led to the creation of the National Collegiate Athletic Association or NCAA for short.
What does it really mean to be American? Like it says in the national anthem, “Land of the free and the Home of the Brave.” When people hear the word, “America”, they think of freedom or diversity. Most people think that America is all about obesity and fast food. Those are just stereotypes, America is not about obesity or fast food, it’s about freedom or diversity. In America, we don’t have just one main religion, we have various religions. It also means freedom and being apart of a free society and environment. Being American, we are able to enjoy more freedom than any other country in this world.
When the word, “America” comes into my mind I think of freedom. America is all about freedom. We have political, economic, religious and personal freedom. Personal freedom describes what American citizens think and what our personal choices are. We have our individual rights and freedom. America is also about economic freedom. We the people as Americans can decide on how to spend our money but we also have taxing.
Also, religious freedom is a big part of our lives because we have a very diverse environment. You can believe what you want to believe without discrimination and/or stereotypes. The last type of freedom is political freedom. Americans are able to vote. Americans have the right to petition their government, also they have a right to assemble (also known as to create a group). When you put all these examples together, America is “The Land of the Free”.
I am an American citizen and I live in a very diverse community. All around me, there are people that are all mixed. There are so many different cultures people grew up in. America doesn’t just have one or culture, we have various religions and cultures. I go to an all-girls school, and this school is very diverse. I learned about so many different cultures that I have never even heard before. For example, my best friend is from Albania and I learned so much from the Albanian culture and I actually even know some of the languages because I am used to the language when I go to her house and I picked up some words that I now know in Albanian.
As a High School student living in America and being born and raised in America. I am living the American Dream. There are so many opportunities for me in this country. Being American is not about “eating burgers and fries” or being “fat”… It’s about being free.
“Oh, say can you see, by the dawn’s early light, what so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming. Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight, o’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming. And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. O say, does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave. O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
We in America sing about the land of the free and the home of the brave. But it was not always like this. We had to earn that. We had to fight to become the America we are today. We had brave souls willing to risk their lives to give us the freedom we have today. They fought for what they believe in, what we today seem to forget.
They believed in a country united as one. A country where everyone is equal, no matter of race, sex, or religion. They wanted a country where every man, woman, and child had the right to life, liberty and property. They felt everyone deserved these rights, whether they were black, white, male, female, Catholic, Asian, or Muslim. People are people, no matter how they may look, or what they believe in.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once had a dream that his four children would one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character. To me that is freedom. Where people can live the kind of they want. Where they can say what they feel, act how they want to act. Are free to think and believe in whatever they want to believe in. America is the greatest country in the entire world. But we seem to take that for granted.
We are too easily tear apart by things. People kill people, people hurt people, and people use other people to get what they want. This is not what our ancestors had in mind. This is not what they were fighting for. And it’s not just America that is like this.
When America was first formed it was deemed land of the free and home of brave with the freedom to go as you please and hold a weapon. As America progressed into the future it has lost its lustre and has become a country of laws that no longer protect the freedom that Americans once had. This loss of control has turned America for the worse and is creating a home that is less wanted by all. America is no longer land of the free and home of the brave.
It has been dishevelled into a state of turmoil with freedom not being a main priority and people are being frisked against their will as well as the government is pushing their programs which do not help the overall state of America’s economy. One of the first issues with the “new” America…
Although, there are many laws against criminals legally receiving guns they are still able to acquire new guns as well as keep their old ones. Some ways they are able to acquire new guns is through the black market, theft, or even through the technology of 3d printing. With the new technology felons, terrorists and many other types of criminals can open a gun factory in their garage and print undetectable weapons (Ferguson). This shows that America is soon going to be unable to protect everyone from the realm of crime. Soon anyone could print weapons off and although they should be making it harder for criminals to get firearms it will soon be putty in their hands.
The only items that these criminals would need is a nail to use as the firing pin and bullets, but these are easy objects to attain and do not require a background check (Ferguson). All in all the second amendment is being taken away and it needs to be reinstated for America to be free again.
The next big issue that America contains is the violation of person proxemics. The first violation of this is the stop and frisk act in New York. This is a violation because 90% of the people who were stopped were innocent of any crimes (Sanchez). This show that many of the people should not have been stopped and they were frisked against their will and their body invaded. The data that was collected from the stop and frisks showed that of the 685,724 stops that were made 53%…
Land of the free- meaning we have many freedoms. This was written by Francis Scott Key during the bombardment of Ft. Mchenry during the battle of 1812. We had already signed the Declaration and had these freedoms, no longer oppressed by Great Britain. Home of the Brave- as he watched the Americans being bombarded, he thought of how the military was taking it and how hard they fought for our Independence during the Revolution. Our freedoms came because of the brave men who fought but also those who signed the Declaration who could have been hung for treason against the King.
It has become the land of the super-wealthy, who are the only ones free enough to be able to misuse their wealth by manipulating politics for their own benefit and thus become even wealthier.
“The brave” exist only in Hollywood now, because it is only in films that anyone opposing this wealth controlled system that have a chance of winning.
But they both collide into making you wrongly believe that it is things like socialism and fair distribution of wealth that are the dangers to your freedom!
The reality is that these things are actually the biggest dangers to their control over you!

You have been conned for so long now that too many of you now vehemently believe all the propaganda that you have been fed, and it’s far too late to do anything about it.
