Problem Solution Essay

This is a sample of a problem/solution essay.

You’re a litter bug! Don’t throw that soda can on the ground. These are comments people made in the United States in the 1990s. Although most people are aware of their part in contributing to the drowning of the planet in the garbage, many of them still continue to do nothing, and the world suffers as a result, However, it doesn’t have to be this way, and it isn’t difficult to participate in helping the Earth. If people go paperless and recycle, they can contribute greatly to the health of our planet.

With the amount of technology at people’s disposal, there is no reason why they can’t go paperless. Probably one of the easiest ways to help eliminate millions of tons of waste is by recycling. In the 21st Century, there is no excuse for not participating in cleaning up the environment. Today, people can recycle almost anything, and they don’t need to use paper for business transactions anymore because they have the Internet. Let’s all join together in ridding the world of junk and paper.

Household wastes (or rubbish) are called garbage. Every household produces a lot of garbage (or wastes) daily. This garbage includes left-over food, fruit and vegetable peels, fallen leaves of potted plants, waste paper, unwanted plastic objects (such as plastic bottles, polythene bags, toys, etc.), glass articles (like glass bottles, broken window panes, etc.), metal objects (like aluminum foils, rusted iron grills, etc.), old wooden objects, rags (old, torn clothes), discarded shoes, and sewage. Some of the garbage (or waste) is biodegradable whereas a major part of it is nont.
