Explain the Christian Concept of Salvation

The meaning of salvation to a Christian is healing a broken relationship between people and God, which brings new life and peace. Salvation is available for every person because of what Jesus Christ did in His death on the cross, in His burial, and His personal, physical, and immortal resurrection from the dead. To receive salvation, we must personally believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, confess Him with our mouth as our Lord, and follow Him by faith daily.

Only those who have obtained salvation through faith in Jesus Christ shall be saved from hell. Salvation is God’s greatest blessing that He revealed & presented to mankind. ‘Salvation is the most important issue of life that cannot be neglected or ignored’ (Pet. 1:9-12). It is deliverance from evil, safety from danger and welfare, peace and happiness. A story that symbolizes the meaning of salvation to a Christian is the story of Jonah and the whale. Jonah was a sinful person but he committed salvation and was eaten by a whale he still stayed alive and escaped from inside the whale it was a miracle because God saved his life.

Salvation is about not being selfish. Salvation is only accepted if it is meant truly from the inside. Sin can influence a Christian today through temptation even though they are aware of what is right and what is wrong. Salvation is gained by asking God for forgiveness. Repent and say sorry for your sins. It is not about being selfish and self-centred – not thinking about yourself or everything that revolves around you. You ask God for safety from danger and trust him that God will look after you. An example of how salvation can be obtained is Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus was a tax collector. He was a wealthy man ‘. He was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.

As he was short, he wanted to see Jesus clearly in a crowd. ‘So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him since Jesus was coming his way’ Zacchaeus wanted to gain the salvation of his evil deeds and he was very eager to meet Jesus ‘welcomed him gladly’ another thing that shows he wants to gain salvation was that he was ready to give all his money to charity ‘I will pay back 4 times the amount. This story about Zacchaeus, the tax collector, shows how he gained salvation from God and how salvation can be gained. It is about welcoming God into your life as Zacchaeus did to Jesus.

You must resist temptations of being selfish, and you must put right your wrongs. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that is not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast”(Eph. 2:8,9); this quote shows a lot of meaning about gaining salvation. For by grace is meant that despite Christians being so undeserving of salvation, God’s unmerited favour still bestows it. Forgiving. Faith in the quote indicated that faith is the channel or instrument through which salvation comes to us. If you have faith in your religion, that is when salvation comes.

Not yourselves show it is not our action that saves us. You are supposed to have faith in God and your religion and trust God and have faith inside. The gift of God means that God freely offers his salvation as a gift. You cannot work or pay for a gift, for if you do, it automatically ceases to be a gift. God is received free from the giver. Accept it truly. Christ’s blood is available to all, but every individual must apply it to their own heart by faith. (Rom. 3:25).

This quote show salvation can only be obtained if you accept your faith from your heart. ‘Belief in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.’ (Acts 16:31). ‘That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.’ (Romans 10:9).

In this essay, I have explained the Christian concept of salvation and why a Christian would suggest that this is one of the foundations of Christianity. Salvation is so important to a Christian because you can prove yourself to God to be good enough to go to heaven. Without salvation Christians wouldn’t be able to gain internal life; go to heaven. Salvation can be such a struggle because you have to believe in it truly for it to happen.
